An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 29" x 43 1/4" [74 x 110 cm]) (Learn More) Adventure, the 1945 Victor Fleming romantic love triangle gambling melodrama ("Victor Fleming's Production of MGM's Adventure"; "Based on a novel by Clyde Brion Davis") starring Clark Gable (this was Gable's first movie after three years in World War II, and the tagline was "Gable's back and Garson's got him!"), Greer Garson, Joan Blondell, Thomas Mitchell, Tom Tully, John Qualen, Richard Haydn, Lina Romay, Harry Davenport, Betty Blythe, and Pierre Watkin. Note that this movie was the first one that Clark Gable made after serving in World War II, and that is why the tagline for the movie started with "Gable's back", because he enlisted in the war, as did so many other top stars! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that maybe it is because this movie was released at the end of World War II, but it appears that this movie was barely released in countries outside the U.S., because we have had very few non-U.S. posters from this title, and we have never before auctioned this Argentinean poster! Note that apparently they had a similar situation in Argentina to that in the U.S., in that there was a large Spanish speaking population in America in the 1930s and 1940s, and studios would create dubbed versions of their movies in Spanish, and they would release them to U.S. theaters in areas that had large Spanish speaking populations, and they would print special posters that said "Toda en Espanol". We have only seen a very few Argentinean posters like this, which were apparently printed for use in areas of Argentina where Castilian was spoken, and there was a dubbed version of this movie created, and this poster reads "Toda en Castellano", which makes it a very interesting curiosity. Condition: good. There are tears and areas of paper loss in the right half of the middle horizontal fold, including in Gable's mustache and his cheek. The poster has darkened. The poster was used in a theater when it was not being shown in "Castellano", so that portion of the poster was folded back and stapled, and it caused the top of the poster to darken unevenly (see our image).
