L'alibi (released in the U.S. in 1939 as "Alibi"), the 1937 Pierre Chenal French romantic love triangle crime mystery thriller (about a mentalist who kills his rival, a Chicago gangster, and then he pays a showgirl to cover for him, but the detective investigating the case does not believe her story) starring Erich von Stroheim, Albert Prejean, Jany Holt, Louis Jouvet, and Vera Flory

Artist: Anselmo Ballester
Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good. There is light rippling and slight discoloration scattered in portions of the poster due to exposure to moisture. It has a 3-4" tear at lower left that has been repaired with tape from the back. and a smaller tear above that. It has some small paper loss at upper center. it is otherwise "all there" so this is the kind of poster that responds really well to restoration. It is likely that many or most of the stains and some rippling can be removed chemically, and after proper restoration the poster will look fantastic, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
