An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 10 1/2" x 13 1/2" [27 x 34 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Note that we are unsure who is pictured on this item! If anyone knows more about this item or who is pictured on it, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that someone wrote "Cyd Charisse" and "B. Stanwyck" on the back of the still, but they were guessing, and they were definitely wrong. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this still was mounted onto a heavyweight board that has an excess 1/4" at the bottom, and "L. Wong" is written in pencil at the bottom of that excess border. Normally, this would mean that this is the name of the photographer, but we can't confirm that. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this still measures 10 1/2" x 13 1/2" [27 x 34 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Note that this is one of 80 deluxe oversized stills (measuring 11" x 14" or similar) which were consigned to us, and they all originated from the legendary James Card Collection! We auctioned 100 other stills from this collection in our September Major Auction, and those mostly auctioned for between $30 and $250 each, with a few selling for more, with the highest selling for $535! Now we have 80 more from that collection in this set of auctions. James Card was a film preservationist who, starting in 1948, worked at the newly created George Eastman House in Rochester, New York, and he helped build their massive motion picture collection, preserving movies that had been forgotten at that time. In 1955, he discovered that Louise Brooks was living as a recluse in New York City, and he persuaded her to move to Rochester, where she wrote many letters and some books about her legendary career. Not only do these 100 oversized stills (which we are auctioning individually) have wonderful "provenance", but there is also no fear that they are not from their first release (and many of the stills have photographer stamps on the back or embossed, and some have other information on the back, and several have a stamp that identifies them as being from the "James Card Collection"! Condition: good to very good. The photo was mounted to a heavy board (see above). Learn More about condition grades
