Date Sold 6/28/2020 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 5 Charlie Chaplin English 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" "Red Letter Photo Cards", which were distributed in conjunction with Red Letter Magazine, an English movie magazine, which was published from 1899 to 1988. These cards show scenes from films that Charlie Chaplin made at Essanay Studios in 1915 and 1916, so it is extremely likely that they were made that year, or very soon after. We don't know how these cards were distributed or used. They resemble postcards (and are on a similar heavy paper stock), but they have no printing on the back, and are blank there, so we don't know what people did with them (besides possibly collecting them).
