An Original Vintage Theatrical Advertising Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Paramount Week, the 1922 poster ("Fifth Annual Paramount Week"; "Your national-joy week"; "Keep it open"; "Sept. 3rd - 9th"; "It's Paramount Week") advertising a Paramount studios promotion. Note that many theaters at this time only showed the product of one or two studios, so the studios would offer these kinds of incentives to the theaters to try to get them to book only their product during a single week. Note that this was the "fifth annual" such event, indicating it began in 1918, and we know that it continued through 1939 at least (we have seen ones from several different events, including the first one, the one from 1939, and several from in between those dates)! Important Added Info: This was an ad that was shown along with coming attraction glass slides between movies at a 1920s movie theater. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: good to very good.
