Date Sold 1/18/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Sheet Music (measures approximately 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Ku Klux Steppin' Blues, the 1923 sheet music ("Everybody's song") by Billy O. Newton and Harry L. Alford. Note that this sheet music features artwork of KKK members on horseback with an American flag and a burning cross, and the horses have K.K.K. embroidered sheets with masks, and we have seen the masked horses on other KKK memorabilia, so apparently the horses really did wear masks! Obviously, this is about as politically incorrect as you can get, but it shows how some people in the United States felt as late as 1923. Note the unusual tagline "Everybody's Song", and it certainly makes you wonder who the "everybody" is that they are referring to! Important Added Info: Note that this sheet music is for the song "Ku Klux Steppin' Blues". Condition: good. This sheet music originally was 6 pages long. It had an interior single sheet that had pages 3 and 4, and that sheet is missing. The other four pages are present, and of course, the cover of it is the biggest interest, and we doubt anyone was planning on singing this song, so the missing page seems not that significant, but we leave that to bidders to decide. Otherwise, there is some light staining on the three non-cover pages, and some slight rippling around the edges of the cover. Learn More about condition grades
