Cooper"; based on the story by Edgar Wallace, with incredible special effects by Willis O'Brien) starring Fay Wray, Robert Armstrong (as Carl Denham), Bruce Cabot, Frank Reicher, and Sam Hardy NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that for this 1938 re-release (just five years after the original release), RKO created all different border art, and had all full-color lobby cards and posters (many of the later re-releases would have duotone lobby cards and/or posters). Posters and lobby cards from this 1938 re-release are at least as scarce as those from the first 1933 release! Also note that this lobby card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a board backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original lobby card (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Condition: good to very good. The card had all of its borders trimmed off, and it slightly extended into the edges of the image in a few areas. There were pinholes in each corner of the image. A very talented restorer paperbacked the card, replacing the missing borders, and expertly restoring the slight bits of missing image around the edges. There were a couple of pinholes and a tear further into the bottom left of the image, then the other three corners, and restoration was done to that area, but there was only a little restoration done to the rest of the image. You can see slight signs of the restoration around the edges, but I would think most collectors would be quite happy to have this great card displayed on their wall! Learn More about condition grades
