Owen Wister's The Virginian, the 1946 Stuart Gilmore cowboy western (based on the world famous novel by Owen Wister, and the play by Kirk La Shelle & Owen Wister) starring Joel McCrea (in the title role as The Virginian), Brian Donlevy (as Trampas), Sonny Tufts, Barbara Britton, Fay Bainter, Tom Tully, Henry O'Neill, William Frawley, and Paul Guilfoyle. Note that few people are likely aware that this is not the second movie version of this novel (there was a famous one in 1929, starring Gary Cooper, but there had also been a previous version in 1923).
