And then they fought like seven hundred..."; "The Matchless Seven...The Might Seven 'The Magnificent Seven'!"; "Seven... and they fought like seven hundred!"; a remake of the Japanese Akira Kurosawa classic, "The Seven Samurai"; about a Mexican village terrorized by bandits and they hire seven professional gunfighters to defend their town, by literally giving them everything they have of value) starring Yul Brynner (as "Chris Adams"), Eli Wallach (as "Calvera"), Steve McQueen (as "Vin"), James Coburn (as "Britt"), Charles Bronson (as "Bernardo O'Reilly"), Horst Buchholz (billed as "Introducing Horst Buchholz"; as Chico), Robert Vaughn (as "Lee"), Brad Dexter (as "Harry Luck"), Rosenda Monteros (as "Petra"), and Vladimir Sokoloff (as the "Old Man") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that for this classic western, the poster designer made two entirely different half-sheets, with very different images. Most collectors much prefer this style A, because the three top actors are very prominent on it, while the style B has different art where none of the lead characters are very prominent. Also note while this poster can be rolled in a tube, it would be far safer to send it in a large flat package. We will do that, unless the new owner accepts responsibility for having it rolled. What IS gelbacking? Learn More Condition: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss to the left and right of the center of the poster in the horizontal fold in the white background area. It had some pinholes and tiny paper loss in the borders. It had some smudges scattered in the solid white areas. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the poster (meaning they backed the poster onto a gel material) and they then performed restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the poster still looks and feels like an original poster (and it is!), with no backing at all. The restorer did a pretty good job, but you can see slight signs of the restoration, because many of the white background areas were painted over, to "even them out", but the poster displays pretty well (see our super-sized images to get a good sense of exactly how the poster looks now). Finally, note that someone put two pieces of clear tape in the center of the top and bottom blank borders. Learn More about condition grades
