An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Night After Night, the 1932 Archie Mayo New York City romantic melodrama ("danger lurks - romance flames - excitement plays in Joe Anton's Place at #55"; "A Man and His Women, but what a man and what a women!") starring George Raft (in one of his first starring roles!), Wynne Gibson ("Iris"; "Joe Anton's former sweetheart - who fought to hold his love!"), Alison Skipworth ("Miss Jellyman"; "All her life she longed for happiness - and found it teaching a gangster how to be a 'gentleman'."), Constance Cummings ("Miss Healy"; "Alone - always alone - she say in Joe's Place - waiting - for what?"), Roscoe Karns, and Mae West ("Maudie"; "She was the spirit of what the nice girl never does - but she was real!"; in her first movie role, and she was fifth billed, even though she had been a major star in the theater for many years) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this scene card, and the last one was 8 years ago! Note that the vast majority of collectors would assume that this is a title card, but it is not! In the mid to late 1920s, Paramount made many sets of lobby cards where all of the scene cards LOOK like title cards, but there actually isn't a title card at all (around this time, Paramount abandoned title cards altogether for the most part for the next forty-odd years, instead often using a posed portrait of the stars in place of a title card). This scene card is from one of those sets where the scene cards are commonly mistaken for title cards. Please do not bid on it thinking it is a title card, as it is a scene card, and there is no title card, because we have seen the entire set and there is no title card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good to very good. There is light water staining in the right half of the bottom border, and a brown water stain in the top right blank corner. There are a few tack holes in the top blank border and a few faint smudges scattered in the blank white areas. There is a tiny bit of paper loss in the bottom left blank corner where a pin was roughly removed. Other than the above, which mostly only affect blank white areas, the card is in nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
