Note that this movie included sequences involving many sailing ships, but the budget did not allow for construction of enough ships, so several extra ships were judiciously added using matte paintings! Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). The poster also had a vertical fold and several horizontal folds, with minor wear on the foldlines. There was paper residue from a snipe across the top of the poster and some pinholes and tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
