An Original Vintage Theater-Used Folded Australian Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 13 1/2" x 30" [34 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) The Private War of Major Benson, the 1955 Jerry Hopper military comedy ("One of life's happiest experiences is marching your way!"; "They're out to bust the major!"; "Sez you!"; "Yeth thez me!"; "Happily yours from Universal-International"; about a gruff military man who is assigned to a kid's military school and is won over by the adorable kids and beautiful nurse; a plot that was used before and is sure to be used many times in the future!) starring Charlton Heston (in the title role as Major Bernard 'Barney' Benson), Julie Adams, William Demarest, Tim Considine, Sal Mineo, Nana Bryant, Milburn Stone, Mary Field, and Tim Hovey (billed as "...and meet Tim Hovey [and lock up your heart - or he'll steal it!]") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this daybill was used by The Orpheum theater in Sydney, Australia that originally opened in 1935! The theater featured art deco design, two levels and seating for 1735. The theater was sold in the 1970s and converted into a shopping center. Luckily, in 1986, it was lovingly restored and re-opened as the Hayden Orpheum! Condition: good. There is a theater snipe glued across the bottom of the poster that adds approximately 3 1/4" to the overall height of the poster (the poster was not trimmed and the snipe could surely be removed by a professional restorer, or talented amateur, if one chose to do so). There is tattering and some paper loss around the edges of the poster and there are creases scattered throughout. Learn More about condition grades
