An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Stock Three-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Buck Jones, the 1940s stock poster printed for use by theaters that were showing re-releases of Buck Jones movies. The theaters would either write in the name of the particular movie they were showing that day, or paste on a paper snipe with the title, and then they could later re-use the poster when they showed a different Buck Jones movie. Sometimes examples of the posters were overprinted with specific titles. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "stock" poster created for use by theaters showing their 1940s Buck Jones movies. Theaters would order this poster, which had a large blank area at center. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they were sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Sometimes stock posters are found with blank snipe areas. Most collectors consider them more valuable with a printed snipe attached, or with an overprinted snipe area. This particular stock poster was used to show a re-release of the 1935 movie, "Sunset of Power". This three-sheet was printed in 3 sections. Condition: good. The poster has a few stains and smudges on the back of the part of the poster that was on the outside when the poster was fully folded, but the stains and smudges have very little effect on the FRONT of the poster, so this is a relatively minor defect. There are creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on some foldlines and separation and paper loss at some crossfolds. There are some creases, smudges, tears, tiny paper loss, and many pinholes in the borders. Learn More about condition grades
