Date Sold 1/18/2011Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Undated (probably 1977) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Two-Panel (known in Italy as a "4 Fogli") Movie Poster (2p; measures 55" x 78" [140 x 198 cm]) (Learn More) Gojira, Ebira, Mosura: Nankai no Daiketto (released in the U.S. in 1969 as "Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster" and released in other English-speaking countries as "Ebirah, Horror of the Deep"), the 1966 Jun Fukuda Japanese Toho kaiju battling rubbery monsters science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("The crushing battle between Godzilla, Mothra, and Ebirah. Which will win?") starring Godzilla, Mothra, Ebirah (a giant lobster), Akira Takarada, Kumi Mizuno, Toru Watanabe, Hideo Sunazuka, and Chotaro Togin Artist: Luca Crovato Important Added Info: Note that this poster has the title and credits for this Godzilla movie, and yet the poster shows a King Kong-like monster, and no Godzilla! We wonder if this means that rubbery lizards were not that popular in Italy, or maybe there is an entirely different explanation for this major deception! If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that it is difficult to accurately date Italian posters, and some unmarked re-release posters can be extremely difficult to distinguish from first releases, so please bear that in mind before you place a bid. We used our best information to date this poster, but we can't always guarantee that the Italian posters we sell are not from an unmarked re-release, but this will only prove to be true in a very tiny number of cases. Also note that this Italian two-panel was printed in 2 sections. Finally, note that this Italian two-panel poster was printed in 2 sections (designed to overlap) and when combined, the poster measures 55" x 78" [140 x 198 cm]. Note that this poster was folded in half an extra time. If it is purchased by itself (or solely with other posters that were folded an extra time), then it can be sent in one of our standard size mailers. But if it is purchased with posters that were NOT folded an extra time, then it will need to be sent in one of our oversized flat packages. If you solely purchase this poster, we will re-fold it an extra time. UPDATED 01/14/2011: Note that a knowledgeable collector pointed out that this poster is from the 1976 re-release and NOT the 1969 first release. He adds that the artwork was changed to take advantage of the publicity from the 1976 U.S. re-make of King Kong by John Guillermin. Please do not bid thinking this is the 1969 first release. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
