Date Sold 12/23/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Unfolded Travel Poster (measures 28 1/4" x 42 1/4" [72 x 107 cm]) (Learn More) The Grace Line was a shipping company which was founded in the mid-1800s by the Irish-born Grace brothers. In the 1890s, the company entered the steamship business with a line of freighters running from New York to the South American west coast via the Strait of Magellan. In 1969 Grace decided to exit the shipping business to concentrate on its chemical and diversification ventures. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. The poster has a lightly rippled appearance (although it should be noted that the poster has "textured" paper as well). It has some slight discoloration around the edges and some creases scattered throughout. There is a large tear at lower center. This is the kind of poster that responds really well to restoration. It is likely that much or most of the slight discoloration and rippling can be removed chemically, and after proper restoration the poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
