Composed by Captain George Thatcher Balch, it has since been revised several times! Artist: A.E. Hilton Important Added Info: Note that this is a Brown & Bigelow print with the Pledge of Allegiance, with art by A.E. Hilton, and "illuminated in full color by the famous engrosser, J.R. Rosen". It has a cover sheet attached to the top left that is from the president of Brown & Bigelow telling about the print. We have seen examples of this print (without the cover sheet) advertised as being from the 1940s or 1950s. We know it is not from 1959 or later, because that is when "under God" was added! One seller dated it to exactly 1948, and one dated it to exactly 1955. It certainly might have been made multiple times in multiple years, and if anyone knows more about this (or exactly when this version is from), please e-mail us and we will post it here.
