An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Chapter #11 ("The Measure of a Man") One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) The Three Musketeers, the 1933 Colbert Clark & Armand Schaefer Foreign Legion military action adventure serial ("A Modern Version"; "A Smashing Serial In 12 Thrilling Chapters"; loosely based on the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas) starring John Wayne, Ruth Hall, Jack Mulhall, Raymond Hatton, Ralph Bushman (billed as "Francis X. Bushman Jr."), Noah Beery Jr., Lon Chaney Jr. (billed under his given name of "Creighton Chaney"), and Robert Warwick. Note that this is a then-modern day version of the Dumas classic, with Mulhall, Hatton, and Bushman as the modern day Three Musketeers and John Wayne as the modern day D'Artagnan. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster was oddly folded, with two evenly spaced vertical foldlines instead of the regular one. There was an extra fold just above the regular middle foldline, and a slightly diagonal crease running below the middle foldline near the center of the poster. There were some creases and small tears on some foldlines and pinholes and creases in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
