'The Prince and the Showgirl'"; "Some countries have a medal for Everything"; "A Film by Marilyn Monroe Pictures Inc."; "Screen Play by Terence Rattigan"; about a showgirl in a mythical European country, who causes scandal when a prince tries to seduce her) starring Marilyn Monroe (in the title role as Elsie), Laurence Olivier (in the title role as the Prince Regent), Sybil Thorndike, Richard Wattis, David Horne, Jeremy Spenser, Jean Kent, Vera Day, and Margot Lister NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: fair to good. The poster was dry-mounted to a heavy cardboard backing. Prior to being backed, someone trimmed 1/4" each from the left and right blank borders, and 1" from the bottom of the poster (which cut into the small credits at the bottom of the poster). The poster had many small creases throughout and a long horizontal crease near the center of the poster running into Marilyn's shoulders. The poster also had had tape and pinholes around the edges. If I owned this poster, I would certainly have it removed from the dry mounting, and have it properly paperbacked! This week we have given a more detailed overall condition grade along with more details about the condition described in words. Of course, we could not describe every single defect, plus there are some defects (like creasing, tape on the back, extremely tiny pinholes, etc) which can be VERY difficult to see, even in our largest "super-sized" image. Therefore we strongly recommend that you BOTH read our written description of the item, AND ALSO look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe.
