An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 42 1/2" [71 x 108 cm]) (Learn More) Chris Warfield's Pinocchio (also released as "Voluptuary" and "The Erotic Adventures of Pinocchio" [see below for more information]), the 1970 Corey Allen erotic fairy tale sexploitation movie ("A bedtime story for adults"; VERY loosely based on the novel 'The Adventures of Pinocchio' by Carlo Collodi) starring Alex Roman (in the title role as Pinocchio), Karen Smith, Eduardo Ranez, Dyanne Thorne, Monica Gayle, Uschi Digard (billed as "Ushi Digart"), Vincene Wallace, Debbie Osborne, and Neola Graef. Note that there is considerable confusion surrounding this title! It was released in 1970 under the title "Pinocchio" and "Voluptuary". We know this because we have found 1970 posters with a printed title of "Pinocchio" and a snipe of "Voluptuary", and vice-versa. After the success of the X-rated "Alice in Wonderland", this film was re-released in 1976 (still X-rated) under the title "The Erotic Adventures of Pinocchio", and used the wild tagline "It's not his nose that grows!". Finally, in 1977, the movie was re-edited to secure an R-rating. Note that we strongly suspect that the producers of the movie were threatened with a lawsuit when they released it as "Pinocchio" in 1970! That would explain why virtually all the examples of that 1970 poster have a very large snipe that reads "Voluptuary" over it! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we mentioned that all examples of this poster we have seen have a large snipe over the title. This one did too, but the linenbacker removed it. Also note that this one-sheet measures 28" x 42 1/2" [71 x 108 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had fine surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines (typical of high-gloss posters of this period). It also had a large snipe over the title that was removed, leaving some signs of the snipe in the title area. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
