An Autographed 1 3/4" x 5 1/2" Cut Album Page (Learn More) Anne Shirley was an actress from the 1920s to the 1940s. She was born Dawn Eveleen Paris but her mother gave her the name Dawn O'Day early in her career. She changed her name to Anne Shirley during the summer of 1934 after she had been chosen to play the character with the same name in RKO's Anne of Green Gables. Some of her other movies include: City Girl, The Devil and Daniel Webster, Murder My Sweet, and Stella Dallas (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film). She passed away in 1993 at the age of 75. Important Added Info: This cut album page has been personally autographed (signed) by Anne Shirley. It could be matted with a vintage or repro still and framed together to make a cool display! Note that this item has been trimmed and it now measures 1 3/4" x 5 1/2" [4 x 14 cm]. This autograph (and others from this same collection we are offering in separate auctions) comes from the estate of Dorothy Credille, who was a Hollywood publicist in the 1930s to the 1950s. During the course of her work, she became personal friends and an acquaintance of all the top Hollywood stars, and she collected many autographs in an autograph book (as well as some signed 8x10s and 11x14s). Someone took the autograph book and cut out the individual autographs, and this is one of those autographs from that book. We feel certain that it is authentic. Condition: good to very good.
