Artist: Howard Terpning Important Added Info: Note that this classic movie only had a short play date in December of 1968, so that it could qualify for the 1968 Academy Awards (held in the spring of 1969). Almost all known U.S. posters from this movie are from the "post-Academy Award release" in 1969, which prominently references the Best Picture Academy Award won by the movie. The 1968 "pre-Awards" one-sheet is extremely rare. I have never seen or heard of this "pre-Awards" subway poster before! Condition: very good to fine. The poster was never folded. It has faint water staining across the bottom border (just slightly extending into the bottom red letters in a few areas) and that water staining caused small paper loss in the bottom left corner and a few creases in the bottom border. There are creases and a couple of tiny tears in the top blank border and a tiny tear in the upper left blank border. Other than the defects detailed above, the poster is in really nice condition (it was clearly never used and has a "crisp" feel to it!). If I owned this poster, I would surely have it professionally linenbacked to remove the water staining from the bottom border and to repair the tiny tears and the paper loss in the bottom left blank corner, and after linenbacking, the poster will look fantastic, and the only restoration will be in the blank borders!
