Date Sold 4/13/2023Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Style Z Thirty by Forty Movie Poster (30x40; measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's The Man Who Knew Too Much, the 1956 Alfred Hitchcock Morocco/London kidnapping spy espionage conspiracy crime thriller ("Alfred Hitchcock's greatest suspense Adventure!"; "The flash of a knife... the crash of cymbals! Cues for murder - excitement - suspense!"; "A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing!"; "Based on a story by Charles Bennett and D.B. Wyndham Lewis"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes") starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart), Doris Day, Brenda De Banzie, Bernard Miles, Ralph Truman, Daniel Gelin, Reggie Nalder, Richard Wattis, Alexis Bobrinskoy, and Christopher Olsen. Note that this is a re-make of Hitchcock's 1934 English film of the same name, but with quite a few differences and it includes Doris Day singing "Que Sera, Sera", which became a huge hit! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned this style Z version in all our years of auctioning (and we have only auctioned the style Y poster one time and that was 11 years ago and it sold for $885!). Condition: fair to good. Unfortunately this poster, which was never folded, was used in Canada where a censor stamp was applied to the bottom center blue background area. But much more unfortunate, the distributor painted a large black area over the original title and then painted a French language title over the black in yellow paint. We know from long experience that the chances are wonderful that the yellow and black paint have bonded with the paper and that it can't be removed, only re-painted over. So please do not bid on this poster thinking that the paint can be removed, because it almost surely can't. Learn More about condition grades
