Important Added Info: Note that this travel poster shows a silk designer at Macclesfield, which was an English town noted for silk production and design. Macclesfield had the distinction of being the only mill town left unbombed in World War II. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. It had some creases scattered down the left side with some small tears and tiny paper loss in the left blank border. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that at some point after linenbacking, the poster was roughly handled and there are now minor creases in the left border (solely in the excess linen, and not in the poster itself).
