An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Main Street, the 1923 Harry Beaumont silent young-woman-moving-from-the-city-to-a-small-town melodrama ("All the tragedy, the humor and the romance of Sinclair Lewis' celebrated novel"; adapted from the best selling novel by Sinclair Lewis) starring Florence Vidor (as Carol Milford Kennicott), Monte Blue ("and a typical cast of WARNER stars"; as Dr. Will Kennicott), Harry Myers, Robert Gordon, Louise Fazenda, Noah Beery Sr., and Alan Hale Sr. Note that this movie was made three years after Sinclair Lewis wrote this major best-seller, which sold well over a million copies soon after its publication. It was remade in 1936 as "I Married a Doctor", with Pat O'Brien and Josephine Hutchinson. We have never seen either version, so we don't know if they were faithful to the novel, or how they were received by the public.
