A new hope... A new dream"; "From a novel by Vilhelm Moberg"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Max Von Sydow, Liv Ullmann (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Eddie Axberg, Allan Edwall, and Hans Alfredson. Note that this movie was followed by a sequel, "The New Land" with the principals reprising their roles!
