Date Sold 12/20/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Teaser One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Jaws 2, the 1978 Jeannot Szwarc man-eating Great White shark attack horror sequel ("...May be too Intense for younger children"; "All New"; "Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water..."; "Written by Carl Gottlieb and Howard Sackler"; "Based on characters created by Peter Benchley") starring Roy Scheider, Lorraine Gary, Murray Hamilton, Joseph Mascolo, Jeffrey Kramer, Collin Wilcox Paxton, and Cindy Grover (as the girl swimmer in the close encounter with the shark). Note that Steven Spielberg, who had directed the original Jaws, did not return to direct this sequel, and he later stated that it was because of the horrendous problems they had in filming the first movie (particularly in making the mechanical shark, Bruce, work), and he was afraid to possibly repeat that experience! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Jack Leynnwood Important Added Info: Note that this is a teaser one-sheet (note the lack of credits). Also note that there were three different teaser posters for this movie! All three have the same exact art, but one has the opening date, one does not, and one has the date and "All New" in a box above the title. The third one was likely created because some people thought the original "Jaws" movie was returning for a re-release (this has happened several times over the years with sequel movies, most notably with "Tarzan & His Mate" in 1934, which had virtually the same "ALL NEW" box!). This auction is for the teaser without the date. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had creases, scuffs, and tiny bits of paper loss on the folds. Either before or after the poster was backed, it was roughly handled, and it acquired creases scattered in the image. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
