Date Sold 4/20/2014Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 3 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Huckleberry Finn, the 1920 William Desmond Taylor silent juvenile adventure comedy ("A New Mark Twain - Paramount Artcraft Picture"; based on the novel 'The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn' by Mark Twain) starring Lewis Sargent (in the title role as Huckleberry Finn), Katherine Griffith, Martha Mattox, Frank Lanning, Orral Humphrey, Gordon Griffith (as Tom Sawyer), George Reed (as Jim), Thelma Salter (as Becky Thatcher), and Esther Ralston (as Mary Jane Wilks). Note that this was the third of William Desmond Taylor's trilogy of films based on Mark Train's famous most famous characters (the very first screen adaptations from this book). The first was 1917's "Tom Sawyer", with Jack Pickford in the lead, and Robert Gordon as Huck Finn. The second was 1918's "Huck and Tom". This one, the third one, was made two more years later, and since Robert Gordon and Jack Pickford were now both painfully far too old to play teenagers, Lewis Sargent and Gordon Griffith took over the roles of Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer.
