Artist: Tom William Chantrell Important Added Info: Note that almost every collector agrees that this poster is not only the best poster image on this title, but also that it is one of the best Marilyn posters period. We have only previously auctioned three examples of this poster in all our years of auctioning, and the last time we auctioned it, it sold for $2,500! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. It had some creases scattered in the image, including in Monroe's face. It had diagonal creases across the top edge of the poster, with a 2" tear in the center of Monroe's hair, by the top border. At some point, it had pieces of tape on part of the left edge of the left blank border, perhaps to attach it to a mat. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, with no excess, and backing has greatly diminished how noticeable the border defects are, and the creases scattered throughout the poster are not at all noticeable, except on the closest inspection. The poster will look great on the new owner's wall! Learn More about condition grades
