It's a spectacle light years ahead of its time from 20th Century Fox."; "Written and Directed by George Lucas"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia), Peter Cushing (as Grand Moff Tarkin), Alec Guinness (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Obi-Wan Kenobi), Anthony Daniels (as C-3PO), James Earl Jones (as the voice of Darth Vader), David Prowse (billed as "Dave Prowse"; as the man inside the Darth Vader suit!), Peter Mayhew (as Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (as R2-D2), and Phil Brown (as Uncle Owen) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the Star Wars characters were definitely not iconic and burned into the public's imaginations in 1977, so when this silk banner was created, the artist did not take great care in drawing the characters the way they appeared in the movie. In particular, C-3PO looks quite different from what he looked like in the movie, and to us, that makes this banner all the more interesting, because it clearly shows that it was not destined to be a classic from the very start, but achieved that status after its amazing success at the box office. We have only once before auctioned another example of this silk banner before, and that one sold for $4,200! The poster has been recently stored rolled, to help reduce the folds , and it could be either sent rolled in a tube or re-folded in a large flat package. But it can't be combined with other rolled posters if it is sent in a tube, due to the thickness of the poster when rolled, so bear that in mind. Condition: very good. The banner was stored folded but has not deteriorated in any way (especially the gold fringe, which would be most subject to being damaged; see our image). Someone attached it to a wall with a few staples, and if you look closely at our image, you can see a few tiny pairs of staple holes. The staple holes have not enlarged, and they have not damaged the poster. Learn More about condition grades
