(literally translates to "Wake Up!"), the circa 1919 German campaign poster encouraging people to vote for the German Democratic Party, and featuring art of a rooster above the Munich skyline (which includes the silhouette of the Cathedral of our Lady) by H.W. Note that the German Democratic Party (Deutsche Demokratische Partei or DDP) was founded in November, 1918 by leaders of the former Progressive People's Party, left members of the National Liberal Party, and a new group calling themselves the Democrats. In 1930 the party changed to the Deutsche Staatspartei (DStP). Artist: H.W. Important Added Info: Note that the silhouette of the Cathedral of our Lady (Frauenkirche) can be seen in the background! Condition: good. The poster has darkened somewhat and there are MANY tears of varying lengths around the edges (one is larger than the others at upper center). Most of the tears are repaired with tape from the back. Certainly a competent restorer could repair the defects described above, but please bear in mind the cost of restoration before placing a bid.
