Breakston English jungle safari adventure thriller ("They lived hard... and loved savagely, braving every danger to carve a new frontier!"; "Conquering the world's last wild frontier!"; "Filmed entirely in outdoor Africa"; "Primitive love... awakened on Africa's forbidding Veldt."; "SEE... The dark continent!"; "Deadly Python vs. Terrified Beauty"; "Africa's intrepid pioneers... fighting to wrest a homeland against primitive man and animal... against the chaos of nature... and the fury of outlaw hunters"; about English settlers in East Africa wanting to start a farming community, but they hire two men to help them who are after a legendary elephant graveyard, which will make them rich from ivory, but then both men fall for one of the pretty women settlers) starring Susan Stephan, John Bently, Robert Urquhart, Howard Wood, Morea Soutter, and Alan Tarlton. Note that this English movie was made in 1954, and by all accounts, it is a very tame movie, without much sex or excitement. In 1956, "Majestic Productions" released it in the U.S. under the title "Outlaw Safari", which was pretty misleading, but then the next year, AIP picked it up and re-titled it yet again to "White Huntress", and had a striking image of a pretty blonde woman with a knife entangled by a deadly python, and not only was this incredibly misleading as to what the movie was about, but it also references a scene that never occurs in the movie (pretty typical of AIP at this time!). AND Naked Africa, the 1957 Ray Pheonix AIP jungle safari native shockumentary ("Primitive Passions Unleashed!") narrated by Quentin Reynolds and features "The Shocking Dance of the Virgins", "Weird Ceremonies that Defy the Flesh!", and Unbelievable mass Weddings!" Important Added Info: Note that pressbooks were prepared prior to a movie being released. Often, changes would be made in a movie advertising campaign (billing of actors, different images, etc.), and the theaters would print up special supplements that they would send out with the pressbooks that had already been printed. These supplements are very rare, far more rare than the pressbooks themselves! Some pressbooks would have no supplements, some would have one, and some would have several. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of the pressbook, plus an image of a two-page spread from inside of the pressbook (we do NOT picture any supplements or heralds, if there are any included with this pressbook), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Finally, note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: very good, NO CUTS. Learn More about condition grades
