An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81" [206 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Hello, Dolly, the 1970 Gene Kelly romantic musical comedy ("America's #1 entertainer in America's #1 musical!"; "Based on 'The Matchmaker' by Thornton Wilder"; "Based on the stage play 'Hello Dolly'"; "Music & Lyrics by Jerry Herman"; "In Ernest Lehman's production of 'Hello, Dolly!'"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Barbra Streisand (in the title role as Dolly), Walter Matthau, Michael Crawford, Louis Armstrong, Marianne McAndrew, Tommy Tune, Fritz Feld, Pat O'Malley, Eddie Quillan, Scatman Crothers, William 'Billy' Benedict, and Danny Lockin NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Richard Amsel Important Added Info: Note that when this classic movie first opened, it had a "roadshow" release (it only opened in select big cities) before it had it's nation-wide general release (sometimes known as the "popular prices" release, because they added the following taglines: "For the first time in history you can see 'HELLO DOLLY' at popular prices! Come anytime for the time of your life!"; "No reserved seats", and they also got rid of the cool Amsel art and substituted 2-color photographic images of the stars) in 1970. The poster offered here is the rare 1969 roadshow release poster. Also note that there is a very large added section, which is a "corrective credits snipe" that the theater was supposed to glue over the original bottom left credits area. This was printed after the original posters were printed. What was the change? Only that the credit for the soundtrack album has been greatly increased in size! Obviously, someone in that department complained that nobody would see it on the poster as it was printed! In the case of this particular poster, the snipe was not used, and it will be sent together along with the other sections of the poster (but we have pictured the snipe separately). Also note that this six-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: very good to fine. There is some darkening on the back of the part of the poster that was on the outside when it was fully folded, but it has little effect on the front, and otherwise, the poster is in nice condition.
