The character was one of the original members of the Avengers alongside Thor, Ant-Man, Wasp and the Hulk. The Iron Man franchise has spread to almost all forms of media including books, television shows and films. The character has been portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
