Date Sold 2/26/2012 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 11 reference test photographs from The Toast of New Orleans, the 1950 Norman Taurog Louisiana romantic musical ("MGM's Technicolor Fiesta!"; "Singing sweethearts together again!"; "Written by Sy Gomberg and George Wells"; about a fisherman who becomes an opera singer) starring Kathryn Grayson, Mario Lanza, David Niven, J. Carroll Naish, James Mitchell, Richard Hageman, Clinton Sundberg, and Rita Moreno. Note that all of these reference set photos measure 8" x 10". Some of them have a visible clapboard in the image that gives the details about the movie and some do not (most of them have the clapboard). The studios would use these images for reference if they needed to shoot additional footage at a later time after the set was taken down. Almost all of the photos have "RETURN TO PROPERTY DEPT. METRO GOLDWYN MAYER" stamped on the back. Condition: very good. The photos are generally in nice condition!
