An Original Vintage French Magazine (measures 7 1/2" x 11" [19 x 28 cm]) (Learn More) The African Queen, the classic 1952 (the movie briefly played in December of 1951, no doubt to qualify for the 1952 Academy Awards, but most sources list it as a 1952 movie) John Huston (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) English/U.S. romantic World War I (WWI) military adventure thriller ("Actually filmed in the splendor and dangers of the Belgian Congo!"; "The mightiest adventure ever filmed!"; "Based on the novel 'The African Queen' by C.S. Forester") starring Humphrey Bogart (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Katharine Hepburn (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Robert Morley, Peter Bull, Theodore Bikel, Walter Gotell, Peter Swanwick, and Richard Marner. Note that although this movie opened at the end of 1951, all of the original release U.S. movie paper for this title has a 1952 NSS number (but has a 1951 copyright date). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a French magazine called "Le Film Complet", and each issue had an adaptation of a then current movie, with an image from the movie on the cover, and many small images from the movie scattered in the interior pages. It is like the "movie edition" hardcover books that were put out in the U.S. at the same time, except that this is a 8-page magazine. Apparently, the magazine "shrank" in size as the years went by, because we have seen mid 1930s ones that are 16 pages, and 1940s ones that are just 8 pages. Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: good to very good. Note that we have attempted to check to see if the magazine is complete and uncut, and we believe that it is. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazine. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images. Please bid (or not bid) based on that overall grade and by viewing the super-sized images. Learn More about condition grades
