Theaters would order this poster, which has a large blank area where the title of the specific film being shown could be added, thus getting many posters for the price of one If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this half-sheet, and that was 11 years ago (that example had a different title overprinted in the blank area at center)! Also note that in the case of this poster, the theater was showing the 1933 John Wayne movie, Riders of Destiny, and that title has been neatly overprinted in the area at bottom center. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had creases, scuffs, and some small tears around the edges and along parts of the folds. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that the restorer left a tiny bit of excess linen around all four sides of the poster (they left a small border in order to protect the poster from handling damage, but they did not leave a larger border, to allow it to more easily fit in a frame).
