An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]) (Learn More) Cavalcade of Burlesque, the 1951 magazine ("History of Burlesque, Past and Present"; "200 Gags and 100 Dolls") published in the fall, which gives a history of burlesque and has an introduction by Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, who had gotten their start in burlesque. Naturally, much of the magazine shows barely dressed female burlesque performers, but there is also some coverage of some famous male burlesque comedians. The only issue we have auctioned is volume 1 number 1 from the fall of 1951, and we don't know if there were other issues. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!).
