An Undated (probably 1970s) Re-Release (re-titled "Sssssake" for this re-release) Theatrical Linenbacked International One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Sssssss (released in other English-speaking countries as "Sssssnake"), the 1973 Bernard Kowalski science fiction (sci-fi) horror mad scientist herpetologist cobra snake reptile thriller ("Don't say it, hiss it"; "Once this motion picture sinks its fangs into you, you'll never be the same."; "Zanuck and Brown, who brought you Jaws now present a major horror film"; "From a story by Dan Striepeke") starring Strother Martin, Dirk Benedict, Heather Menzies-Urich (billed as "Heather Menzies"), Tim O'Connor, and Jack Ging NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that, despite the 1973 copyright at the bottom, this poster is certainly from after the release of Jaws in July of 1975 (note the tagline). It could be from a post-Jaws first release because this international poster was meant to be used outside the U.S., and we have seen 1976 first release posters for Japan and Denmark that mention Jaws as well. However, until we learn more, we feel it is best to consider this a 1970s re-release poster. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this is an "international" style one-sheet (meaning it was printed in the U.S. for use in non-U.S. countries). Note the lack of a ratings box and NSS information. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had fine surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines (typical of high-gloss posters of this period). It also had some creases and scuffs along parts of the folds. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
