An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 9 1/4" x 12 1/2" [23 x 32 cm]; 18 pages) (Learn More)

The Man Who Played God, the 1932 John G. Adolfi melodrama (based on the play Jules Eckert Goodman; about an older musician who marries a pretty young woman, and after an accident leaves him deaf, his friends talk openly about him and his marriage, but then he learns to read lips, which causes him to "overhear" things that cause him to misunderstand how his wife feels about him) starring George Arliss, Violet Heming, Bette Davis (in an early role), Andre Luguet, Louise Closser Hale, and Donald Cook. Note that this is a re-make of the 1922 film that also starred George Arliss!
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a one-sheet (27 years ago), some heralds, a glass slide, and a few stills from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this pressbook, which we have never auctioned before!

Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)!

Condition: good, WITH CUTS. One of the interior pages is half cut out and another interior page has a small cut out. Both only affect ads. The poster images are unaffected, and the pressbook is otherwise in pretty nice condition.
