An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Two-Sided International Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 41" [71 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Return of the Jedi (now known as "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi"), the classic 1983 Richard Marquand outer space science fiction (sci-fi) action adventure epic sequel ("Return to a galaxy far, far away!"; "The Saga Continues"; "The movie everyone's been waiting for!"; written and produced by George Lucas) starring Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia), Billy Dee Williams (as Lando Calrissian), Anthony Daniels ("as C-3PO"), David Prowse (as the man in the Darth Vader suit), Kenny Baker (as R2-D2), Peter Mayhew (as Chewbacca), Frank Oz (as the voice of Yoda), James Earl Jones (as the voice of Darth Vader), and Alec Guinness (as Obi-Wan Kenobi) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Kazuhiko Sano Important Added Info: Note that this printer's test poster (see below) is even more rare than most printer test posters are! Why? Because this one was also used to run some other artwork on the other side, for the same movie (and what is really cool is that the art on the back is the images of the proposed three-sheet, six-sheet, and 24-sheet, and note that the proposed posters have a purple background, while the printed posters have a blue background, like the one-sheet, which we know, because we have auctioned all three of those posters!). This was often done by printers looking to try different variations of posters, but normally, they were almost always immediately destroyed, because they were truly just "testing" to see how things looked, and once they hit on one that they thought worked, they would then print up a number of test posters, which they would distribute to those who needed to see it (again, see below). We have auctioned several printer's test examples of this poster that were blank on the back, but this is the only one we have auctioned that has printing of other posters on the back (see our images). We have provided an image of each side, and please realize that the winner of this auction will receive ONE poster (and of course, one will have to choose between displaying the one-sheet on the one side, or the three-sheet, six-sheet, and 24-sheet on the other, unless one frames it between glass on both sides so that it can be viewed from either side)! This is a very rare uncut printer's test poster (often referred to as a "printer's proof")! Before a poster was printed in large quantities, the printer would print a limited number of posters as "test" posters. Because they needed to be shown to people at the studio, people in the art department, the stars, etc, they would print a number of test posters and distribute them to these people. Some of them would be fully trimmed, but often they would leave the color chart on the left edge of many of the posters, which added an extra inch to the width of the poster (which explains why the poster measures 28" x 41" [71 x 104 cm]). Once these printer's test posters were shown to the various people in a position to "OK" them, the printer would print the full print run of the posters. Not only is a printer's test poster far more rare than a regular poster, but it is also 100% genuine as there is no fear of purchasing a reproduction! Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It has some light creases scattered around the edges, and a tiny tear in the left of the bottom blank border. Even though there are three poster images printed on the back, they do not affect the front. Learn More about condition grades
