6 Original Vintage Theatrical Hand-Colored Movie Lobby Cards (measure 11" x 14") (Learn More)

Bab's Matinee Idol, the 1917 J. Searle Dawley silent romantic comedy ("One of the famous 'Sub-Deb' storues by Mary Roberts Rinehart") starring Marguerite Clark (in the title role as Bab Archibald), Vernon Steele, Helen Greene, Cyril Chadwick, and Nigel Barrie. Note that this movie was based on a series of stories by Mary Roberts Rinehart, about the adventures of a teenage girl. Note that this was the third of three movies based on these stories, with the other two being made the same year, Bab's Diary and Bab's Burglar. Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that this is a set of hand-colored cards. In the days of silent movies prior to the invention of good quality full-color printing, studios would have lobby cards printed in black and white and then amazingly would hire women to hand-color the cards one at a time (apparently labor was very cheap at the time)! So, each card is colored slightly differently, and the coloring is never a perfect match.

Condition: fair. paper loss in the upper left corner of each card (see the image below); it looks like some animal took a giant bite out of each card!

smudges and light water staining throughout each card (mostly around the edges); a few tack holes around the edges of each card
