An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) The Arizonian, the 1935 Charles Vidor Arizona romantic love triangle outlaw cowboy western ("Law and order ride the raw frontier!"; about a stranger who comes to a corrupt Arizona town, where an English singer is about to leave; she stays because of him, but it turns out he is the brother of her fiance, so they can't have a romance; the stranger becomes the sheriff, and with the help of his brother and a reformed outlaw, is able to clean up the town, but which brother will get the girl?; if you have seen any old westerns, you will surely guess the answer!) starring Richard Dix, Margot Grahame, Preston Foster, Louis Calhern, Willie Best, James Bush, Hank Bell, Bob Kortman, and Slim Whitaker. Note that the character Richard Dix plays in this movie is essentially a composite of mostly Wyatt Earp, but also other famous western sheriffs who cleaned up towns. A few years later, movies like these would have the title characters named after those famous sheriffs! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. Prior to paperbacking, the card had a huge amount of staining scattered throughout, with nail holes, tears, and paper loss around the edges, with some scattered in the image. Overall, the card was in poor condition prior to paperbacking. The person who restored it did the best they could, but there was a great deal of staining in the stars' faces, and the attempted restoration of that area is very noticeable and the solid colored background areas and the letters have been painted over. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its substantial defects, and have looked closely at our super-sized image. Learn More about condition grades
