An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded British Quad Movie Poster (BQ; Quad Crown; measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) The Graduate, the classic 1968 Mike Nichols (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) coming-of-age romantic melodrama ("'Benjamin do you find me undesirable?' 'Oh, no Mrs. Robinson. I think you're the most attractive of all my parents' friends.'"; "This is Benjamin. He's a little worried about his future."; "'Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me...aren't you?'"; "Screenplay by Calder Willingham and Buck Henry"; "Songs by Paul Simon performed by Simon and Garfunkel"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about a college graduate who becomes involved with the wife of his father's business partner and then romances her daughter) starring Anne Bancroft (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; as Mrs. Robinson), Dustin Hoffman (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as Benjamin Braddock), Katharine Ross (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; as Elaine Robinson), William Daniels (as Mr. Braddock), Murray Hamilton (as Mr. Robinson), Elizabeth Wilson (as Mrs. Braddock), Buck Henry (who wrote the screenplay, as the "Room Clerk"), Brian Avery (as Carl), Norman Fell (as Mr. McCleery), and a young Richard Dreyfuss (in a bit part, but he does have two lines!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that when this classic movie was first released in England in 1968, it was rated "X". There is a later re-release of the movie in the UK in 1970 (with a rating of "AA") however, THIS poster is from the very first release of this movie in the U.K.! We have only auctioned two examples of this 1968 first release British quad in the last 15 years, and those examples sold for $1,225 and $778! Note also that it has been established that the leg in the iconic image on this item belongs to Linda Gray (who later went on to fame in TV's "Dallas"), and not Anne Bancroft! Note finally that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster has light rippling throughout due to exposure to moisture, and there is spotty discoloration on back at upper left and in a few areas mostly near the right center crossfold. It has a few pinholes in the corners. However, this is the kind of poster that responds really well to restoration. It is likely that many or most of the very light rippling and very faint areas of slight discoloration mentioned above can be removed chemically, and after proper restoration the poster will look fantastic (but of course bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.)
