Date Sold 5/7/2024 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 6 1963 Re-Release Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief, the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock romantic crime mystery thriller ("It's a web of romance and suspense that spins you from delight to danger - then spirals to an explosive climax on the fabulous Riviera!"; "Based on the novel by David Dodge"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; about a retired jewel thief living on the Riviera, and there is a string of daring jewel robberies, so naturally, he is the lead suspect, and he decides to find the true thief himself, and he is aided by a beautiful rich young woman and her mother!) starring Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Jessie Royce Landis, John Williams, Charles Vanel, Brigitte Auber, Rene Blancard, Georgette Anys, and Jean Martinelli. Note that Cary Grant had announced his retirement from movies in 1953, but he was lured out of retirement by Hitchcock to make this one. Also note that Jessie Royce Landis, who had played Grant's mother in "North by Northwest", this time played his potential mother-in-law, and yet, she was only eight years older than Grant, who had aged very well! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the original 1955 set of cards from this movie is disappointing, because there are few good scenes. Card #3 has a different kissing close up of Cary Grant and Grace Kelly from the one close up that is in the original set! Condition: good to very good. Card #3 (mentioned above) has had the edges folded back at one time (likely to display the image) and pinholes scattered in various areas, as well as some light scuffs. Card #1 has a few light scuffs. Card #4 has a few tiny scuffs at top. Card #5 is in pretty nice condition. Card #6 is in similar condition as card #3 (see above). Card #8 has brown paper tape across the back of the upper edge, and it appears that another lobby card was cur incorrectly from the printer and a thin strip of paper is still visible on the front (see our images).
