An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) The Cat's Paw (The Cat's-Paw), the 1934 Sam Taylor political crime comedy ("From the Saturday Evening Post story by Clarence Budington Kelland"; "Everything new but these [glasses]"; Lloyd is a missionary's son who returns from many years in China to his home town in California, and local crooked politicians set him up as an "in name only" Mayor, but he takes the job seriously and tries to reform the town; when they frame him with fake evidence of wrongdoings, he uses an ancient Chinese method, and puts all the crooks in a cellar, and tells them he will execute them all if they don't confess, and then he uses a Chinese illusion to "behead" two of them, whereupon they all confess; certainly, a very unusual comedy!) starring Harold Lloyd, Una Merkel, George Barbier, Nat Pendleton, Grace Bradley, Alan Dinehart and Grant Mitchell NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. Prior to paperbacking, the poster's blank top had been neatly trimmed off, and it had some minor border defects (it appears it was paperbacked more to replace the top blank area and for conservation purposes than for any restoration purpose). Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was well backed, and looks great! Note that the previous owner of the window card put a plastic "hanger" on the back of the middle of the top of the card, to allow it to be hung just as it is, but of course, this could be easily removed without affecting the front of the card (currently it has been "bent back", but it could be straightened and used).
