An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Zane Grey's The Vanishing Pioneer, the 1928 John Waters silent cowboy western ("From a novel by Zane Grey"; sort of the reverse of "Shane", where the townspeople are the "villains", and the ranchers are the "good guys"!; the townspeople are using up all the water, just like in "Shane", and they kill one of the ranchers who is trying to protect his water, and after a lot of action, the ranchers win, but when the townspeople tell them that the town will die without water, they nobly give up the water and pack up and move further out into the wilderness!) starring Jack Holt, William Powell (as usual in his pre-starring roles, Powell plays a villain, in this case a corrupt politician who frames one of the ranchers!), Fred Kohler, Sally Blane, and Guy Oliver. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. The poster had tiny paper loss at the top two crossfolds and minor wear on the folds. There were some smudges and tears in the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
