An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Paper Banner (measures 24" x 81") (Learn More) The Professionals, the 1966 Richard Brooks (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) south-of-the-border foiled-kidnapping-of-rich-man's-wife cowboy western ("When you want action - this is the one you want!"; "Excitement!"; "Based on a novel by Frank O'Rourke"; "Written for the screen and Directed by Richard Brooks") starring Burt Lancaster, Lee Marvin, Robert Ryan, Jack Palance, Ralph Bellamy, Claudia Cardinale ("as Maria"), and Woody Strode. Note that this was a "thinking man's" western, with lots of clever twists and turns, and fine dialogue. This was one of the few westerns to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director! It has clear defects, which are likely to be very noticeable in our "large" or "super-sized" images that you can click on from our small image at right.
