An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Juke Girl, the 1942 Curtis Bernhardt Florida migrant farmer mystery crime thriller ("Sure she's easy to meet... but try and forget her!"; "She's a good girl for guys to let alone!"; "She makes her living the hard way - the 5c-a-dance way! But don't get ideas, buddy - she's a one-man woman - and that man ain't you!"; "From a story by Theodore Pratt") starring Ann Sheridan, Ronald Reagan, Richard Whorf, George Tobias, Gene Lockhart, Alan Hale Sr., Betty Brewer, Willie Best, Howard Da Silva, Willard Robertson, and Donald McBride. Note that you may not be familiar with the name Richard Whorf, who plays the third lead in this movie, but you likely saw him in some early 1940s movies (his most famous role was in Yankee Doodle Dandy as Sam Harris, George M. Cohan's partner). Whorf was a successful Broadway actor who went to Hollywood in 1941 when all the top stars went to war, and he had success during the war, but once the war was over, so was his acting career. But he successfully transitioned to being a prominent TV director, including many episodes of The Beverly Hillbillies. He also was a set designer and in his spare time studied Native American Languages (one of his brothers was a linguist)! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this half-sheet, and that was 25 years ago (that example sold for $395)! We are also currently auctioning a different style half-sheet (which we have never auctioned before) from this movie in a separate auction. Note that because the poster has condition issues, we don't want to roll the poster prior to mailing, because we believe that rolling the poster would likely lessen its condition even more. If you specifically request it, we will roll this poster, but you will not be able to return it. Otherwise, it will be sent in a large flat package that measures approximately 24" x 30" (but it can be combined with other posters the same size, including ones that could be rolled). Please bear the expense of a large package in mind before bidding on this poster. Condition: good. The poster has slightly darkened, typical of Warner Bros. linen posters of this period. It was never folded, but it has some faint creases and scuffs scattered throughout. It has many small tears around the edges, and someone put a fair amount of tape on the back of parts of the borders, and performed slight amateur restoration to the fornt of the image, without backing the poster. It can still be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or certainly, additional restoration can be performed. Learn More about condition grades
