An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded International Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81" [206 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Sam Peckinpah's Straw Dogs, the classic 1971 (released in the U.S. in 1972) Sam Peckinpah English/U.S. ultra violent rape revenge crime thriller ("Special Notice : 'Straw Dogs' unleashes such dramatic intensity that this theatre is scheduling a 5-minute interval between all performances"; "The knock at the door meant the birth of a man and the death of seven others."; based on the novel 'The Siege of Trencher's Farm' by Gordon M. Williams) starring Dustin Hoffman, Susan George ("as Amy"), Del Henney, Peter Vaughan, and T.P. McKenna. Note that this movie was VERY controversial when it first came out. Many felt that it glorified violence and that it pretty overtly implied that a man isn't a "real man" until he kills a few people! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned the three-sheet poster from this movie (with the same striking image of Hoffman's face close up with broken eyeglasses), but we have NEVER previously auctioned this six-sheet! Also note that this poster was stamped "FOREIGN" which means it was printed for use outside the United States (there would also have been posters stamped "DOMESTIC" for use within the United States). Often, the "FOREIGN" posters would have a different (sometimes racier) image than that for the one used in the United States. Also note that this six-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: very good to fine. There is some darkening on the back of the part of the poster that was on the outside when it was fully folded, but it has little effect on the front, and otherwise, the poster is in nice condition.
