Date Sold 4/29/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Robot Monster, the 1953 Phil Tucker 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) science fiction (sci-fi) horror thriller (perhaps the worst movie ever made; "Moon monsters launch attack against Earth!"; "Moon monsters launch Earth attack!"; "Adventures into the Future"; "How can science meet the menace of astral assassins? New science-fiction thrills!"; "Monsters attack Earth!"; "Adventures into the future in NEW Tru-3 dimension!") starring George Nader, Claudia Barrett, Selena Royle, John Mylong, Gregory Moffett, Pamela Paulson, George Barrows, and John Brown (in the title role as the voice of the robot). Note that "Plan Nine From Outer Space" has often been mentioned as the worst movie ever made, but many people feel this movie is a strong contender for that title! The making of the movie is as interesting as the movie itself (it was shot in four days, it "steals" special effects from other movies, etc). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this title card, and the last one was 10 years ago, and that example sold for $802! Note that this movie was originally in 3-D. The studios created both 3D and 2D posters and lobby cards (the 2-D posters and lobby cards were for theaters that lacked the 3-D equipment). This lobby card is from the "3-D" release. There is something extra special about this card (and all the others in the set we are currently auctioning)! Almost all the surviving 3-D cards from this movie either have something pasted over the two 3D areas, or have had restoration in those areas, because the cards were later used in a theater that did not show it in 3D. These cards have no paste overs or restoration in either 3D area, making them even more desirable! Note that this is one of seven complete sets of lobby cards that we were consigned that are highly prized by collectors, so we are auctioning each of the eight cards in each of the seven sets in its own individual auction! This means you can bid on any or all of the eight cards in this very desirable set, something that hardly ever happens with this title! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. There is a 1" tear in the right of the top border that has a few faint creases around it. There are a few faint smudges scattered in the card. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! As mentioned above, the card has never had a snipe over either of the 3-D areas, which is a huge plus! Learn More about condition grades
